NORWICH City have completed the loan signing of Australian international defender Adrian Leijer from Fulham for the rest of the season.

The 22-year-old joined Fulham in August 2007 but has yet to break through to Roy Hodgson's first team at Craven Cottage. He began his career with Melbourne Knights before going on to enjoy A League success with Melbourne Victory. A permanent fixture for Australia at both under-20 and under-23 levels, he has since been capped at full international level, against Singapore in March last year.

The defender has been handed squad number 22.

On a busy day at Carrow Road, Gunn was delighted with his latest addition to the City squad. The Canary boss exclusively told First News: "Adrian is someone who Ian Crook has worked with during Adrian's time with Australia under-20s. I have seen him playing for Fulham reserves and together with David Carney he will provide us with extra cover - I am delighted to have him on board for the remainder of the season."

Elliot Omozusi

Going in the opposite direction is Elliot Omozusi who has today returned to his parent club. Since joining the Canaries in July last year on a season-long loan from Fulham, the 20-year-old defender has made 24 appearances in all competitions.

On Omozusi's return Gunn told canaries.co.uk: "Elliot has not featured in any of my three squads in recent weeks. The opportunity has come for him to go back to Fulham and we wish him well in his future career."
