AFTER the Canaries 3-3 draw that saw City continue their unbeaten run, Bryan Gunn says he is delighted with the spirit shown by his side at Molineux against top of the table Wolves.
Despite the home side taking the lead early on in the first half, Lee Croft's strike after half an hour equalised for City at the start of what would turn out to be a six-goal thriller.
Reflecting on the game, Gunn told canaries.co.uk: "I told them that I was very proud of them - they've set standards in their last three games and tonight they set the standard a bit higher, to come to the league leaders and then put on a performance like that.
"They're disappointed that they've not won the game, but that's something we could have done, we had a number of chances we didn't take but I'm not digging anyone out. All the lads were honest and said sorry to their teammates, and the team rallied round and got them back in the game."
He continued: "That's all I can ask for, the spirit is excellent. We've got new players who have come into the squad, they've been welcomed in and we can only get better from here. I enjoyed it, I thought we were the dominant team in the first half an hour, but we just let that goal in, but the character was there to come back from it and if we keep gaining points, I'll be happy."
His fourth game since taking the reins at Norwich, Gunn is yet to see his squad defeated: "We asked the lads to show their commitment and their passion and we know they've got it within them," he said. "Hopefully we can get that coming out more in the games to come, we're getting ready for the Bristol game now.
"We've got a few bumps and bruises but the medical team are looking after that and we'll get as many fit bodies back to training as possible. I am very proud of a team performance which has gained us another point."
With Ian Butterworth confirmed as assistant manager, the City boss was asked how it felt to have his old teammate back as his right-hand man. He commented: "It's great to have Ian back, we're great friends from our playing days and he's a top-class coach.
"We've got a good backroom staff, we're all in it together and we told the team we're proud of them and how hard they've worked during the week."
