Your Shout written by Gareth Payne.
16.57 - Final whistle goes at Deepdale, Preston the victors by Jon Parkin's first-half goal to nil. Preston eeked out the added time with some tactical holding the ball in the corner.

"Now 5 games without a win, honeymoon period done & dusted. We've got to string a couple of wins together."

16.53 - Doherty looks to have been thrown up front. Cort I think was injured as well as tired, think Cort was going to have trouble moving for the rest of the match.

"Why take a striker off, a tall one at that for the last 12 mins? Even if he's cream crackered he could be useful for corners, free kicks and long ball flick ons, doesn't have to chase things down."
ankles50
16.52 - Four minutes of time to be added on at the end here at Deepdale.

"Oh dear down down deeper and down at Deepdale."

"My telepathic powers never fail...
Now, let's have a brace for Jamie!"

16.50 - Youl Mawene is going to come on late for Preston, to replace Jon Parkin, not sure if referee Shoebridge has acknowleged the want for a change, yes he has, off goes Parkin for the defender/defensive midfielder Mawene.
16.47 - The scramble, Croft crosses deep to Carney, who tries to guide the ball back across goal but is blocked and his second effort low and hard is cut out by a defender, Killen gets a foot in there and but Preston clear, just. From the clearance, Shackell earns that booking. McKenna is awarded Preston's man of the match, for me Jonathan Grounds has been impressive today at left-back.
16.45 - Scramble in the Preston box and drama at the other end. Shackell, Doherty and Parkin come together and Shackell is booked for bringing down the big man, looked for a moment that referee Shoebridge was going for the red card judging by Shackell's reaction.
16.44 - Darren Carter strikes a free-kick, right-footed, well over Marshall's bar.
16.42 - Ten minutes to go and the game is opening slightly as City push for the equaliser, Preston finding space on the break.

"We are throwing the kitchen sink at preston now with Cureton and and Carney on."
panomania
16.39 - I am going to go out on a limb here and say Carl Cort will be one of them replaced, as he is currently laying on the floor as Preston attack. He is one that is replaced along with Wes Hoolahan, Cureton and Carney.
16.38 - Looks like a David Carney preparing to come on. Since the dugouts are over the other side of the ground, it is difficult to tell clearly. A second figure emerges, Jamie Cureton I think.

"Come on Gunny - get Carney on now!
He played a great 20 minutes or so at Wolves and nothing since. He must be fit or he shouldn't be on the bench?"
Lisa
16.33 - Hoolahan shoots over after Lonergan and a defender get themself in a muddle. Croft's cross from the right is dropped by Lonergan under pressure, it falls to Russell but the ball is poked away to Hoolahan who on the turn shoots over. I am informed the seventh shot off target by City of the match. McKenna is booked for a foul on Hoolahan.

"Two tall strikers - who is knocking it on for who?"
pmorgan_771
16.31 - Subs, Richard Chaplow makes way for Darren Carter and the second is Chris Sedgwick coming off for Simon Whaley. Chris Killen comes on for Alan Gow for City. 20 minutes to play here at Deepdale.

"Changes needed now, no point waiting longer."
ankles50
16.28 - Shackell throws himself in the way of a Chris Brown shot and shortly after Grounds goes in the book for a tackle on McKenna. Preston are preparing a double change.
16.27 - Russell flashed an effort over the bar, nice build-up play by City again. Worked out from Grounds at left-back down that flank, inside to Fotheringham in the middle, in to feet of Cort, flick round the corner to Russell, but his shot on the turn on his left-foot goes over Lonergan's bar.
16.25 - Today's attendance is 12,033.
16.24 - Killen is one of the subs warming up over on the far-side of the pitch at the moment.

"Why not bring Killen on I bet he is dying for some time in a yellow and green shirt."
panomania
16.21 - Cries for a penalty from Hoolahan and the 400+ travelling City fans behind that goal. Hoolahan appeared to have just been pushed over in the area by Sean St. Ledger.

"We need Carney and Cureton on the pitch now!"
panomania

"'If we lose against Preston today, we're in Deepdoo-doo!'
If Porker's doesn't win Your Shout then I'll go roll in some!"

"Even worse Doncaster winning Charlton winning some teams have 3 games in hand on us its looking all so bad."
ian_norw934
16.08 - Preston in at the start of the second, Chaplow doesn't catch his shot cleanly and Marshall is able to palm away.
16.07 - Back underway at Deepdale.

"*sigh*
Never mind driving a coach and horses through our defence, he's 'Parkin' it in the net as well...."
pmorgan_771

"Let down again in defence nice one."
ian_norw934
15.51 - At half-time we have a marriage proposal on the scoreboard.
15.50 - Half-time whistle goes.

"Cureton on for Gow in the second half. At least Cureton shoots.
Oh no 1-0 down That City defensive is shocking. League 1 football next season!!!!!!"
panomania15.48 - One minute of time to be added.
15.44 - Preston lead. Jon Parkin with it, free-kick came in from the right, Brown took the ball down on his chest, his effort was blocked but the rebound fell to the feet of 'The Beast', who this time had more luck with the post, his shot coming off Marshall's left-hand post and rolling along the goalline and nestling in the net.
15.41 - In response to panomania's earlier question, Preston aren't really playing the long ball game despite having Parkin and Brown up front. I'll come back to this as Jon Parkin has just struck the inside of City's post. Grounds missed his kick allowing Parkin in, the big striker cut inside Doherty and rolled his shot off Marshall's right-hand post.
15.40 - Alan Gow's turn to run at the heart of the Preston defence, McKenna looked to have taken up a defensive midfield position at the start of the game but a few times now City have exploited the space in front of the back four. Gow's left-footed effort from 20 yards curls over Lonergan's bar.

"Good to hear good end to end play :)"
panomania
15.36 - The game has livened up in the last five minutes or so, was fairly bland to be perfectly honest with you the opening exchanges, which was suiting Norwich. City were caught short at the back and Otsemobor had to cover to rob Sedgwick of a chance.

"Just caught up with all the text on 'Your Shout'. Thanks for brining up the points of the referee. the match last week is still fresh in my mind!!! I'm hoping for 2-0 win to the City."
panomania
15.34 - Mark Fotheringham wins possession in midfield and bursts forward, defenders back off the Scotsman so he lets fly from just outside the area, block comes in and it loops goalwards but Lonergan did well to readjust his feet to get a hand on it to divert the ball out for a corner.

"Sounds like a lively start by Norwich. are Preston playing the long ball game?"
panomania
15.30 -
Chance for the hosts, free-kick finds its way through, Sedgwick's ball in, finds the head of Brown and his header skews off to find Nicholson and he stabs at it, probably wasn't going in but Shackell clears anyway.
15.28 - Quiet here at Deepdale this afternoon, both in terms of action and crowd.

"A lot of possesion & industry by City but we have to take these chances as Preston will bang it long all day & always have a chance of a goal against the run of play."
ankles50
15.25 - Lee Croft goes on a run down the right-flank and is edged out of it and in to the ad horders, gingerly gets up holding his head. Heard the noise from up here.
15.22 - Chris Brown gets a mention for the first time, on the end of a through-ball, turns and fires over left-footed.
15.20 - Gow causing problems again, this lad looks bright, unfortunately after some neat footwork in the box, he gets the ball caught under said feet but his lay-off is poor.

"Hey all just from the shopping with the WIFE. Happy valentines to all.
Can city give me a Valentines present of a win. Come on the canaries."
Richard
15.17 - Great play from City results in a corner. Worked from back to front, starting with a Shackell defensive header, down the left, in to the feet of Gow, laid off to Croft who struck a shot from range that took a deflection. Lovely little link-up play and interchange to work it, City have started well always looking to play neat football on the ground. Gow's corner is flicked wide of the far-post by Shackell, unchallenged header.
15.15 - Slalom run from Alan Gow is thwarted by a trip, free-kick to City and the Scot will take and it is too deep. Goal-kick to Preston.
15.12 - You can tell little is happening on the pitch I am about to talk about the referee, Mr Shoebridge who I believe last refereed us in the 1-0 defeat to Queens Park Rangers at Carrow Road. His last game with Preston was a 1-0 win for the Lilywhites.
15.11 - Chaplow late in on Grounds as the full-back tries to clear.
15.07 - City free-kick now, Jason Shackell and Gary Doherty have gone forward for it, Jonathan Grounds to take.
15.05 - Free-kick on the far left to Preston. I wouldn't quite describe that as a magical free-kick from Paul McKenna. There I said it.

"If we lose against Preston today, we're in Deepdoo-doo!"
porker928

"Good to see Shackell in left-back and honestly in the Premiership season he was our best defender, hope he will play well and score for us very soon."
davidsutchylee
15.03 - City get us underway and an instant shot from Lee Croft.
15.02 - City huddle up before kick-off, love is in the air on this day?
15.01 - Former City striker Chris Brown starts in attack alongside 'The Beast' Jon Parkin for Preston and Andrew Davies makes his debut after signing on loan from Stoke City yesterday.
14.58 - "Let's get ready to rumble!", so sayeth the stadium announcer.

"Curo benched. Grounds left back. Gow starts. Hulahoop starts as does Croft, sounds a very aggresive selection."
ankles50
14.52 - Happy Valentine's Day to all! Bryan Gunn makes three changes to the side that lost to Bristol City. In come Jason Shackell for his re-debut, Mark Fotheringham and Alan Gow for his first City start. Making way are Adam Drury, Sammy Clingan and Jamie Cureton. Adrian Leijer is on the bench for the first time.

"If Cort plays as he did last weekend we have a great shout at taking 3 points today, our inability to keep clean sheets even when we pick a defensive sides makes me think we should chose the most attacking formation in the effort to out score the opponents. This being my view Cureton does NOT make the starting 11 as chances carved open have to be put away."
