CITY boss Bryan Gunn bemoaned the lack of 'spark' from his side as they crashed to a 2-0 defeat to relegation rivals Blackpool.
The Seasiders always seemed to have more bite about their play as two second-half strikes from Brett Ormerod and Charlie Adam gave them a deserved win and three priceless points in the scrap for Championship survival.
Gunn commented: "I was just disappointed by the lack of spark and passion about our play today. I thought we were committed in defence in the first half and managed to create a few half-chances, but all-in-all didn't create nearly enough and that handed the initative to Blackpool.
"The first goal from Ormerod, I'm not sure whether that was supposed to be a shot or a cross, but whatever it was it flew ino the net and that has really lifted the home side and their supporters. As for the second, it was an excellent strike to be fair.
"But from our point of view we need characters who are up for the fight. There were some out there today but we need everyone to do their bit in what is now a massive week. We have Cardiff on Tuesday night and that is a huge game now. There are 27 points to play for and that's still a lot but we must make sure we are still in the hunt after Cardiff."
