AFTER making his first appearance on the bench during the Canaries' 1-1 draw with Birmingham at the weekend, Tom Adeyemi says he was delighted to break in to the first team mix.
Despite the game ending with City not making a substitution, the 17-year-old told canaries.co.uk his experience at St. Andrew's was a very exciting one.
"It's a great experience and I enjoyed it," he said. "The gaffer said to me about how hard I'd worked so now I've got to the bench I need to keep that place and if possible, get in the team. I kept glancing over when I was warming up, just to see if he was looking my way. It wasn't to be but hopefully it will be soon."
Speaking after the match on Saturday, Adeyemi was asked by reporters how it felt to finally make it to the bench having travelled with the City first team on a number of occasions: "It's great just to be part of the set-up, it's where I want to be in the future so it was a really good taster for me.
"I've been away a few times and missed out on the bench so it's good to finally get a chance today. When I first came in as a scholar I thought get a professional contract and try and make the bench - I've done that and now I'm just hungry for more."
The Academy starlet continued: "I was nervous, definitely but I was more excited when I found out. I'm still young and over the next few years I think I've got something to give to the team."
