CITY forward Carl Cort will miss the rest of the season as he recovers from an operation to remove a bursa from his foot, First News can confirm.
Cort's injury has seen him absent from action since Norwich's 2-0 defeat away to Blackpool.
City's Head Physiotherapist Simon Spencer exclusively told canaries.co.uk: "Carl's had minor surgery to remove the bursa underneath his foot - he'll be out for six to eight weeks but he'll start his rehab on Friday. Initially this will involve resting him and looking after the rest of his body, and continuing with his knee strengthening.
"Carl's well, and he's keen to get on with the rehab. After four weeks we hope to have him jogging and we'll then start building him back up to get him back after the six to eight weeks."
Speaking to First News, Norwich manager Bryan Gunn said: "We wish Carl well in his recovery from this unfortunately timed injury, the big man had fought his way into the starting line-up and was playing really well.
"The medical department will make sure he receives the best possible treatment in the coming weeks."
