NEXT month sees a group of Canary fans take part in an annual fund-raising initiative.

On May 16, representatives of Forces2Canaries - members of which are Norwich supporters, who are serving or have served in Her Majesty's Armed Forces, will be undertaking their third annual sponsored event in the shape of a joint cycle ride and walk.

They will be taking in the venues as depicted on a revised Norwich Monopoly board. This year all donations are going to The Royal British Legion Poppy Appeal.

The group set out from Norwich Airport at 10am and take in Whiffler Road, UEA and Whittlingham Broad on bikes, before taking to foot to cover the remainder of the 22 venues and finishing at Carrow Road at around 11pm.

In previous years the group have raised funds for the Bryan Gunn Leukaemia Appeal (2007) and the Help for Heroes Charity (2008), and it is hoped that the group can beat their previous donations in looking to raise over £800.

In addition to this event, another member of the supporter group, based in Plymouth will be taking part in the Plymouth Half Marathon on May 24, again with all donations going to The Royal British Legion Poppy Appeal.
