CITY forward Alan Lee says the Canaries are fully focused on the task in hand today, as he gets set for one of the biggest games of his career.
After joining Norwich on loan from Crystal Palace in March, the 30-year-old has been a regular feature in the City starting line-up. Looking ahead to Sunday's Championship clash with Charlton, Lee told canaries.co.uk he knew exactly how important this weekend's game was to the Club.
"All the lads have been focused on this for some time now," he said. "If you're not up for this one you don't have much chance. The last three or four games, there's been an argument for it being the biggest of your career, and this one is certainly massive. The best way to deal with it is concentrating on how you're going to do yourself and not worrying about things out of your control.
"I think we'd all like to know what's happening and get it out of the way, it's been a very tense week. There's been a few anxious, sleepless nights but we still have a chance so fingers and toes crossed. If you think of the computations, it certainly makes me anxious but it's not beyond the realms of possibility, and we have to make sure we do our bit."
Norwich need a victory on Sunday and also require Barnsley to lose out to Plymouth in order for the Canaries to ensure their Championship survival. With this in mind, Lee was asked whether he wanted to be kept up to date with goings on at Home Park. He replied: "It's down to the manager whether results will filter through to us but you do sometimes feel an eerie hush go through the crowd, which means it's going negatively.
"Sometimes, I've been in games where the crowd have started celebrating so we'll probably have an idea of what's going on elsewhere. It's going to be hard, everyone's thinking of the other game but I think Plymouth will be wanting to win. We have to make sure we're positive and we're lively over the next few days and go and win on Sunday.
"The last two games have been very, very tough - we're not in this position because of those two results, it's been because of what's happened throughout the season. Reading are a particularly good side with Premiership players, and it was always going to be very tough."
