CITY can confirm Scottish international goalkeeper David Marshall is poised to join Championship side Cardiff City for an undisclosed fee.

Marshall travelled to Cardiff and completed a medical, agreed personal terms and the Clubs have agreed a fee. The relevant paperwork has been lodged with the appropriate football authorities.

The 24-year-old initially joined the Canaries on loan in January 2007, but his spell was cut short to only five appearances due to an ankle injury.

Despite that injury sustained at Stamford Bridge in the FA Cup, then manager Peter Grant had seen enough to sign the 6ft 3in goalkeeper permanently in July 2007 from Glasgow Celtic, where he had risen through the Club's academy ranks.

Marshall has been an ever-present since his permanent move, making 100 appearances in all competitions, taking his City appearance total to 105. He was voted third in City's Player of the Season award for 2007-08.
