CROFT KEEPING OPTIONS OPEN

Posted on: Wed 13 May 2009

NORWICH manager Bryan Gunn has confirmed City winger Lee Croft has expressed his desires to look for pastures new.

After much speculation surrounding the 23-year-old's contract, Gunn told canaries.co.uk, Croft had spoken directly to him of his future wishes.

"I had a discussion with Lee last week about his contract situation," Gunn commented. "He's decided to keep his options open and go and discuss his future with other teams. Obviously we wish Lee all the best, he's been a fantastic player for Norwich City during his time here, and winning the Barry Butler Player of the Year trophy shows the fans applauded his contributions last season as well.

"Lee, within his contractual rights, excercised his options and now we wish him all the best for the future. I'll be sad to see him go, he's a player who will work as hard as anyone, he's very committed - but he sees his future higher than League One. He's got himself into the contract situation which will give him the chance to go and explore those opportunities."
