CITY can confirm that the contract of striker Carl Cort has been terminated early by mutual consent.
The 31-year-old joined the Canaries on December 9, until the end of the 2008-09 season - his contract was set to expire on June 30.
Speaking exclusively to canaries.co.uk, City boss Bryan Gunn said: "We wish Carl all the best. He came in at a difficult time and did a good job for me when I took over.
"We wish him well with his fitness battle and hope he finds a new club and we see his career progress."
Cort made his City debut at the Madejski Stadium against Reading four days after signing and scored his only goal for Norwich in early February 2009 in the thrilling 3-3 draw with Wolves at Molineux.
However, injury has hampered his time at Carrow Road as it had done at his previous clubs Newcastle United and Wolves. For City a foot problem ended his season prematurely, meaning Norwich's defeat to Blackpool on March 7 was Cort's last appearance for the Canaries.
In total the former England Under-21 international made 13 appearances for City (five as substitute), scoring once.
