NORWICH City can confirm there will be an independent inquiry into the incident which saw two supporters encroach on to the pitch during Saturday's 7-1 defeat by Colchester United at Carrow Road.
The two men were questioned by police and cautioned following the incident in the first half, which saw them confront staff in the technical area and scuffle with stewards in the tunnel as they were led away.
As part of the investigation, which should be concluded by the end of next week, the Club will consider what action it will be taking against the pair.
The relevant sections of the Football League Ground Regulations are:
9) The use of threatening behaviour, foul or abusive language is strictly forbidden and will result in arrest and/or ejection from the ground.
11) The following acts are offences under the Football (Offences) Act 1991 (as amended):
11.3) The entry on to the playing area or any adjacent area to which spectators are generally admitted without lawful authority.
A Club spokesman commented: "We take the safety of our supporters and our staff very seriously at Norwich City. There will be a thorough independent inquiry into the safety measures which were in place on Saturday and the incident involving the two men who have subsequently been cautioned by police."
