SPILLANE TO MISS HARTLEPOOL
CITY defender Michael Spillane will miss the Canaries' next league match with Hartlepool United on Saturday, August 29 due to suspension.
The 20-year-old was sent off in Monday night's 4-1 Carling Cup defeat to Sunderland, adjudged by referee Anthony Taylor to have denied Black Cats' striker Frazier Campbell a clear goal scoring opportunity.
The one-match suspension comes into force straight away meaning he'll miss Saturday's trip to Victoria Park but will be eligible for City's first round Johnstone's Paint Trophy match against Brentford on Tuesday, September 1 (7.45pm).
Spillane has also been called up for the Republic of Ireland Under-21 squad to play Estonia on September 9 in their European Championship qualifying fixture.
