CITY can confirm the contract of defender Dejan Stefanovic has been terminated by mutual consent.

The 34-year-old joined the Canaries in July 2008 from Premiership side Fulham on a two-year deal.

He made just 12 City appearances last season before rupturing cruciate knee ligaments against Preston at Carrow Road in early November 2008, since when he's been recovering on the sidelines.

Last month it was confirmed Stefanovic was looking to leave City and seek a fresh challenge elsewhere.

Commenting on the news, City boss Paul Lambert said: "Dejan made it clear he wanted to leave the Club before I joined. We thank him for his efforts and wish him well for his future."
