PINK PALS TAKE DIP AT CARROW ROAD
NORFOLK now has its very own 'Calendar Girls' with their first photo shoot having taken place in Norwich City's very own changing room!
The 'Pink Pals' were formed in early 2009 by a group of NHS workers from Attleborough in memory of a dear friend and colleague who lost her life to breast cancer.
They decided that they wanted to support a local charity that was helping people with breast cancer and heard about the Norwich Breast Cancer Resource Fund based at the Norfolk & Norwich Hospital, which provides support groups, clothing, complimentary therapies for cancer patients and much more.
The Pink Pals have devised an array of fund raising events which also include a prize draw and a concert at the Norwich Playhouse Theatre. But the main fund raising event is the Pink Pals 2010 calendar which was shot at locations across Norfolk, highlighting some of the county's most popular tourist destinations such as the North Norfolk Railway, Holkham beach and Peter Beales roses.
Pink Pals members said: "Our first photo shoot that we did was in the bath tub at Norwich City Football Club and although we felt anxious about baring all we were there to support each other and it was nothing in comparison to what breast cancer sufferers and their families must go through."
The Pink Pals would like to thank everyone who has contributed to this appeal so far and hope that people will continue to support this fund by purchasing a calendar.
Calendars will be on sale from a stall at Norwich train station this Saturday ahead of the Swindon match priced at just £5.
