MCNAMEE JOINS CANARIES ON LOAN
CITY can confirm Swindon Town winger Anthony McNamee has joined the Canaries in an emergency loan deal until January 4.
The 25-year-old joined the Robins from Watford in January 2008 having made 103 appearances and scored three goals in all competitions for the Hornets, where he had come through the youth ranks. With a mixture of start and substitute appearances at Vicarage Road he helped Aidy Boothroyd's side gain promotion to the Premier League in the 2005-06 season.
McNamee also had brief loan spells with Barnet and Crewe Alexandra before he moved permanently to The County Ground for an undisclosed fee, where he has made 88 appearances for Swindon in all competitions, scoring four goals.
City boss Paul Lambert said he was pleased to make the signing: "I saw him play a few years ago when I was at Wycombe in a pre-season friendly against Watford. He was on one wing and Ashley Young the other and I remembered him," he said.
"I then saw him again when I was at Colchester and he was quick, and he hasn't lost that. So I'm glad we have got him in and he gives us another option."

On joining the Canaries, McNamee told First News he was pleased to be coming to Carrow Road: "Yes, I'm very excited really to be playing here."
Asked what Norwich fans could expect from him: "Hopefully excitement, balls into the box and creating goals," he replied.
McNamee has already played against City twice this season for Swindon in League One and the Johnstone's Paint Trophy, and says this experience is one that means he is looking forward to his time at Carrow Road: "You've got a very good team here, obviously you can tell that by the position you are in, in the league. Every time I've played against Norwich it's been a tough game anyway so I look forward to playing."
The winger will be unable to play in either the FA Cup or Johnstone's Paint Trophy for City having previously played in both competitions for Swindon Town.
