NORWICH City can today confirm that the contract of striker Kris Renton has been cancelled by mutual consent with immediate effect.

The Scottish forward has spent the first half of the 2009-10 season on loan at Scottish Second Division club Brechin City.

The 19-year-old was a product of the Club's Academy and holds the record of being Norwich City's youngest player having made his debut in City's 2-1 win over Leicester City at the Walkers Stadium in April 2007. He followed up his initial first team bow with two further appearances under Peter Grant at the end of the 2006-07 campaign.

Sadly his progress was disrupted dramatically when in October 2007 he suffered a displaced fracture of the tibia and fibula during an Academy match against Chelsea.

After regaining fitness, Kris was rewarded with a professional contract in the summer of 2008 giving him the opportunity to catch up on lost time.

In a quest for regular football he joined Blue Square North side King's Lynn on loan for two months at the end of 2008-09. With first team football Carrow Road proving hard to come by, he returned north of the border to try his luck on loan with Jim Duffy's Brechin City in August 2009.
