EXPERIENCED City defender Adam Drury says the Canaries are looking to continue their pursuit of table-topping Leeds as they prepare to face Colchester United at the Weston Homes Community Stadium tomorrow (3pm).

With Norwich cementing second place in the League One table with a 3-1 win over Exeter at Carrow Road last weekend, their next opponents will be fourth-placed Colchester - currently sitting six points below them, with two games in hand.

"For us it's another game," said Drury. "We want to catch Leeds, we're not looking behind us we want to keep winning games and claw in the team above us. We've got ourselves to second and we want to go one better.

"There's no reason why we can't catch them, it's going to be a big ask, but that's our aim. The closer we get to them, if we can overhaul them we'll be there or thereabouts come the end of the season."

Drury told reporters tomorrow's game would be no different to any other for him and his team-mates: "There's pressure every week at the minute because of where we are in the league, every team we play wants to beat us and it's not going to be any different tomorrow."

With reporters trying to draw the 31-year-old on City's last meeting with Colchester - the 7-1 opening day defeat at Carrow Road back in August - Drury said: "Obviously we want to get a good result, everyone knows what happened on the first day of the season, but that's gone now and we just want to get three points to get towards where we want to go. For the players it's another game, so we just want to win the match.

"Obviously we were massively disappointed on the first day of the season and we didn't do ourselves justice, but like I said that's gone and we're just looking to get three points to keep us climbing up the league and we've got Leeds in our sights now.

"We know it's going to be a tough place to go, but we're not going to change how we play. We play the same way we do away from home as we do at home, we like to get at teams, attack and score goals, and tomorrow's not going to be any different and we'll go out to win the game like we do every week."

With City currently unbeaten in 12 league games Drury says confidence is understandably high in the Canary camp: "Confidence is a massive thing, we've got belief in ourselves now and I think that shows on the pitch in the way we play. We try and get the ball down and play, and the gaffer's instilled that in us and has got confidence in us and we take that out every week and try and win every game."

With Paul Lambert returning to his former Club, Drury was asked about the skill-set the Scot has brought to Carrow Road: "He's given us belief," he said. "Obviously results are a big thing, he's come in and we've started winning and winning's the biggest confidence you can have - and he's kept that going and made us believe in ourselves, and it's gone on and snowballed from there."

He continued: "He's got massive respect from everybody, from all the players, from the minute he walks into any room, which obviously is a big thing as a manager to have. He's a leader and a winner and winning is what it's about, doesn't matter how you do it, whether you play well or play badly he just wants to win games and that's what we're doing."

The match at the Weston Homes Community Stadium is a sell-out. Supporters are advised not to travel without a valid ticket.

However, seats are available for City's next two home matches versus Brentford and Hartlepool at Carrow Road. Tickets are available by logging on to online ticketing, by calling 0844 826 1902, or by visiting the Carrow Road ticket office or the Canary Store in the Mall, Norwich.
