WHALEY DEPARTS CARROW ROAD

Posted on: Sat 06 Feb 2010

NORWICH City can today confirm the contract of winger Simon Whaley has been cancelled by mutual consent with immediate effect.

Whaley signed from Preston North End in the summer and made six starts for City at the start of the season.

However, he found first team football hard to come by and had loan spells in League Two with Rochdale and Bradford City, scoring three times in 15 appearances in three months away from Carrow Road.

The winger started his career at Bury, scoring 11 goals in 85 appearances in all competitions for the Shakers. He then moved to Preston in January 2006 where he made 131 appearances and netted 17 times in his three-and-a-half year spell at Deepdale before joining City in the summer.
