CITY can confirm striker Jamie Cureton has joined League Two promotion-chasers Shrewsbury Town on loan until the end of the season.
The Bristol-born striker has made eight appearances in all competitions this season for City, scoring twice. His last appearance was back in November against Swindon Town in the Johnstone's Paint Trophy penalty shoot-out win, where he scored the winning spot-kick at the County Ground.
Cureton began his career at Carrow Road before spells at Bristol Rovers, Reading, Busan I'cons in South Korea, QPR, Swindon and Colchester. He returned to City in June 2007, having been the leading goalscorer in The Championship with Colchester the season before with 23 goals.
In his first season back at Carrow Road he scored 14 goals in all competitions, but had a stop-start season last year, which included a two-month loan spell at Barnsley.
City boss Paul Lambert commented: "With the form of the strikers in the first team at the moment and the competition for places there, it makes sense for Jamie to go where he can get some games of football under his belt. Shrewsbury are pushing for promotion and we wish Jamie all the best during his time there."
