SECOND CHAPTER OF SQUADCAST

Posted on: Fri 19 Feb 2010

THE second chapter of Squadcast is launched today at 6pm, with skipper Grant Holt, right-back Russell Martin and Norwich-born midfielder Matt Gill talking about pitches this season, adapting to those conditions, Leeds United's fixture congestion and the best stadiums they've played in, in their career.

As a taster to the second chapter, we'll reveal part of the best stadiums they've played in:

Russell Martin: Stamford Bridge was brilliant. It was a great atmosphere, it was a full-house, 42,000. It was alright for the first half-hour and then we conceded and it became really hard. But, it was a great atmosphere, a great experience and probably the best I've played at.

Grant Holt: Wembley is by far the best stadium I've played at. It's an awesome stadium, everything about it, it's just an unbelievable stadium. When we went there, we went the day before and got the camera thing out of the way and had a look around. I don't think you really switch on, when you get there and you're looking out and see the fans filling and filling and filling. I think there were about 53,000 there and when the ball goes out of play, you just see masses of people. If I did go back, I'd learn a lot from the last time I was there about just focussing on it being another game and it's nothing different, but until you've been there you don't realise.

Matt Gill: I've played at Wembley twice with Exeter and we probably enjoyed the day too much first time around. We all got measured up for suits, all had our cameras, I think we got a bit wrapped up in the day and the game itself. The second time around we went in our normal club tracksuits, no cameras, we were there for a game and a game only that day and the results worked out that way. It's hard to put to one side to say this is just any other game but you have to. The second time around we did things so differently it probably helped us. Having been there the season before it helped also and because Cambridge (United) hadn't and they were doing the whole camera thing. We were fortunate to go there twice and win the second time.

The first chapter was launched yesterday and you can watch the video on Canaries Player or read the lads answers to who they think will win the Premier League and who their boyhood idol was growing up. The rest of the series will be serialised throughout the rest of the week where they dish the dirt on their team-mates, talk about the best player they've played alongside and up against, so stay tuned to canaries.co.uk and Canaries Player.

Canaries Player features match highlights and live audio commentary of every Norwich City match - both home and away, as well as pre and post-match interviews with manager Paul Lambert and his squad. Canaries Player is available for £34.99 a year or £3.99 a month.

You can email us your views on Squadcast to webmaster@ncfc-canaries.co.uk and submit any questions you've liked asked in future. Congratulations to 'waclor' who wins a signed item for posing the question, "What do you think have been the major factors in Paul Lambert turning the team around since his arrival?" which is answered in the final chapter.
