PAUL Lambert is looking for a quick reaction from his side against Southend United at Carrow Road on Tuesday night (7.45pm).
After the Canaries' run of 11 consecutive home victories came to an end against Southampton on Saturday, the City boss says it's important to get back to winning ways as soon as possible.
"I've seen lots of things happen in football and I know when you deserve to win and when you deserve to get beat and Saturday we deserved to get beat, and the best way forward is to bounce back as quick as you can.
"The games are on you before you know it, you don't get time to dwell on it. I never dwell on a win let alone anything else. It's different if you're on a losing streak like 19 games in a row, but if we were I wouldn't be sitting here anyway! The lads have done brilliantly, if I really wanted to analyse it and look back at it what we've done it has been remarkable."
Although the gap between City and the chasing pack has closed after Saturday's results, the Canaries remain top of League One and Lambert said his players know what they need to do against the Shrimpers: "They don't need me to tell them what they've done wrong, they know. They know exactly what's going on, they know when they don't perform and when they do perform. What they need to be reminded of is that we haven't done anything yet. We've got ourselves in a position where we're in the mix and as I said it's great being there.
"The main thing is that you have to bounce back, after you get beat you bounce back as quickly as you possibly can.
"We have to win, that's the nature of this Club you have to win more matches than not."
The game against Southend gives the Canaries a great opportunity to get back into action quickly. "The crowd will come and it will be jam-packed again and they'll get right behind us and sitting top of the league in my experience in football it's a great place to be.
"I think every game is huge. I never prioritise what's big or not because I think this Club generates it whether you're playing Southend or Southampton - every game is huge. The intensity has got to be the same. The lads have grasped that really early, we can't switch off, you've got to be on it every single game, and when you're not on it every single game things like Saturday happen. You have to be on your game at every point."
The Shrimpers are currently sitting 19th in League One and just a point above the relegation zone: "They need the points and it's up to us to keep them down there. You feel sorry for nobody in football, you've got to look after your own backyard. We'll come out flying tomorrow."
Again the squad faces no new injury problems - Adam Drury (thigh), Zak Whitbread (calf) and Cody McDonald (thigh) still absent.
