MCDONALD CONTRACT EXTENSION

CITY can confirm striker Cody McDonald's contract has been extended until the summer of 2012.

The 23-year-old's original contract was set to expire this summer, which included a clause whereby upon completion of a set amount of games it could be extended for a further two years, which has been reached.

McDonald joined City from Dartford in February 2009 having been prolific at non-league level scoring 19 goals in 20 appearances in all competitions for the Darts in the first half of the 2008-09 season. Previously the striker played for Maldon Town and home-town club Witham Town.

Cody scored on his City debut on March 10, 2009, the second in the 2-0 win over Cardiff City at Carrow Road. He has since made 30 appearances, scoring five goals. McDonald is currently out injured with a thigh strain.
