FRASER Forster is back in contention for a place between the sticks in Tuesday night's clash at Leyton Orient (7.45pm) after serving a two-game suspension.

Young Academy product Declan Rudd has deputised ably for Forster during the 2-1 win over Stockport and Saturday's 1-1 draw with MK Dons and the giant Geordie acknowledged his fellow 'keeper's solid performances.

"He's a good 'keeper. Probably needs to do what I've done this year which is go out and play some games somewhere and then he should be ready to go. But he's done very well when he's stepped in."

Forster hopes to be in contention for a return to the first team fold after what he admitted had been a frustrating couple of games reduced to the role of spectator: "Massively frustrating, hopefully I'll be playing tomorrow, but I hate watching I really want to be out there playing. Obviously two big games that I missed, but there's another two big games this week and hopefully I'll be back in and contributing again."

With Orient desperate for points to climb away from the League One drop zone, Forster said the Canaries expected a tough battle when they travel to face the O's at the Matchroom Stadium: "Everyone is playing for something at this point of the season, whether it's pushing for the play-offs or avoiding relegation. So every game is a tough game and if we go there and are complacent we'll get punished. So it's important to do the right things, play like we can play and that should be enough for us."

Asked by media at this morning's press conference if City would feel the possible loss of Wes Hoolahan and the definite absence of the suspended Grant Holt, he replied: "It's a squad game, we've got quite a big squad here and whoever comes in will do their best and I'm sure they'll do a job. Luckily I don't have to make the decisions but we've got a good squad of quality players so whoever comes in you fancy them to do well and take their chance."

The Hexham-born 'keeper has been back to Newcastle to meet his team-mates there after the Magpies clinched promotion back to the Premier League under manager Chris Hughton - and now he is obviously hoping to make it a double celebration by playing his part in City's final push for promotion.

"Last week I went up to Newcastle for a couple of days training and to see the lads so obviously they're delighted to have it all sorted now so hopefully they can push-on and win the league, so everybody is delighted there and - it's a similar situation to here really but it would be nice for us to get promoted and hopefully be made champions."

City's allocation is sold out for Tuesday's match with Leyton Orient.
