SPECIAL GUESTS AT GILLS GAME

Posted on: Sat 24 Apr 2010

WITH Carrow Road sure to be buzzing for tomorrow's match with Gillingham there will be some special guests to enjoy the Club's promotion celebrations.

Shortly before kick-off members of three locally-relevant sections of Her Majesty's Armed Forces will come on to the pitch.

The Royal Anglians, The Light Dragoons and RAF Marham feature local servicemen and women who have all been actively involved in the conflicts in Iraq and Afghanistan - with some only returning home in the last few days.

The Club's Board of Directors have invited representatives from each of them to be our guests and we very much hope they enjoy the game.

Supporters will have the opportunity to show their appreciation when the servicemen come on to the pitch before the match.

Meanwhile at half-time Forces2Canaries, a group representing City fans who serve or used to serve in the Armed Forces, will be one of many of our supporter organisations represented in a half-time parade round the pitch as part of our long-distance supporters weekend.

This has become an annual event and this year we also have representatives from Midland Canaries, Posh Canaries, Kent Canaries, Hampshire Canaries, Capital Canaries and Northern Canaries.
