ADEYEMI PENS NEW DEAL

Posted on: Thu 29 Apr 2010

CITY can confirm midfielder Tom Adeyemi has signed a new contract with the Club until 2012.

Adeyemi joined the Club's academy aged eight and signed a professional contract in November 2008.

The 18-year-old scored a superb opening goal this pre-season against a Manchester United XI, twice against Fakenham Town and made his senior debut as a sub on the opening day of the season.

Three days later, Tom made his first City start in the 4-0 away win over Yeovil Town in the first round of the Carling Cup - setting up the third for Grant Holt. He followed that up with his first league start against Exeter four days later in the 1-1 draw.

To date Tom has made 17 first team appearances for City. In addition he has made 31 reserve appearances, scoring once and 39 academy appearances, netting three times.

In March this year he was awarded the Championship Manager Apprentice of the Year for League One at the Football League Awards.

Speaking to canaries.co.uk, Tom Adeyemi was delighted to sign a new contract: "I'm very pleased because it gives me the chance to extened my future at the Club and show some commitment that I want to be here for the long term and do as well as I can. Coming up through the ranks it was always my dream to play at Carrow Road."
