RUSSELL IS FREE AGENT

Posted on: Thu 01 Jul 2010

CITY boss Paul Lambert today confirmed midfielder Darel Russell has not signed a new contract with the Canaries and is now a free agent.

The 29-year-old made 271 appearances (45 as substitute) for City over two stints after rising through the youth ranks to make his full Norwich debut against Reading on May 3, 1998.

Last season Russell played in the centre of the City midfield 39 times and helped his team-mates to the League One title. He has spent the summer considering a new contract offer from Norwich but Lambert confirmed he has not signed and wished him all the best for the future:

"I've spoken to Darel and he's free to talk to whoever he wants to now. As everybody knows Darel Russell has been brilliant for me and for the Club over the years but he's now a free agent."
