CITY can confirm that a deal has been agreed for defender Michael Spillane to join League One club Brentford for an undisclosed fee.
After City received an acceptable offer for the 21-year-old Academy product, Spillane was given permission to talk to Bees boss Andy Scott about a potential switch to Griffin Park and is now poised to sign a two-year contract with the Middlesex club.
Spillane made his City debut in January 2006 in the third round FA Cup tie against West Ham United at Carrow Road as a late substitute for Jason Jarrett. His first start came three months later at Hillsborough away to Sheffield Wednesday.
Michael along with striker Chris Martin went out on loan to League Two side Luton Town in August 2008 for the 2008-09 campaign making 48 appearances, scoring four times. He was a key part of the Luton side that won the Johnstone's Paint Trophy beating Scunthorpe 3-2 in extra-time at Wembley.
He scored his first City goal in the 4-0 win over Leyton Orient at Carrow Road in September 2009.
Spillane has made a total of 34 appearances for the Canaries, scoring once.
