DEFENDER Rhoys Wiggins has left City to join newly-promoted League One side Bournemouth for an undisclosed fee.

Left-back Wiggins, 22, joined the Canaries from Crystal Palace in July, 2009, having progressed through the youth and reserve team ranks at Selhurst Park before making his first team debut for the Eagles in October 2008.

The young defender also gained valuable experience with a loan spell at League Two Bournemouth at the 2008-09 season, making 13 appearances for the Dean Court club. He returned there last season, playing 19 times as the Cherries finished runners-up to Notts County in League Two.

However the Welsh Under-21 international found opportunities to break into the City first team limited thanks in part to the excellent form of Adam Drury and subsequent arrival of Michael Rose. Wiggins was restricted to just two starts in the Johnstones Paint Trophy last season and appearing as a substitute in the FA Cup tie away to Paulton.
