LAMBERT TO MAKE CUP CHANGES

Posted on: Tue 24 Aug 2010

CITY boss Paul Lambert looks set to make changes to his side to face Blackburn Rovers in the second round of the Carling Cup on Tuesday (8pm).

There looks to be an enforced one in defence, with Michael Nelson being assessed today having sustained an ankle injury in Saturday's 2-0 win over Swansea. The defender will have a scan on the injury to assess the damage but it looks like he will miss the trip to Ewood Park.

Jens Berthel Askou replaced Nelson on Saturday in stoppage time and with Zak Whitbread still unavailable the Dane is a strong contender to step in tomorrow night.

"Nelson will be out for tomorrow - we don't yet know the full extent of the injury," said Lambert.

"The rest of the team look good and I'll make a few changes. Everyone has got to play their part and they are all as important as each other.

"Simon (Lappin) and Fox have been unlucky not to start but at least I know they are really close to it, that's for sure."

Tickets are still available for the game against Premier League Blackburn from the ticket office at Carrow Road today or on the night at Ewood Park.
