Lee Clark became the first appointment to Glenn Roeder's backroom team. The 35-year-old joined the Club on November 2 and was named assistant manager.

A former England U21 international, Clark enjoyed an outstanding playing career. He began as a youngster with hometown club Newcastle United and was part of the squad which won promotion to the Premiership under Kevin Keegan in 1993.

He moved to Sunderland in 1997 and helped them back to the top-flight before leaving for Fulham two years later. Again he helped his new club back to the top-flight and enjoyed a number of seasons with the Cottagers before returning to Newcastle in 2005.

His playing days were hit by injury, and in June 2006 he announced his retirement so he could concentrate on taking up the position as first team coach and reserve boss at St James' Park under Roeder. When Roeder arrived at Norwich as their new boss, he managed to prise Clark from the north east to join him in Norfolk.
