The Serbian defender joined the Canaries in July 2008 from Premiership side Fulham in a two-year deal.

Stefanovic began his career at his home town club Dinamo Vrange before signing for Red Star Belgrade.

His first spell in England came courtesy of David Pleat with Sheffield Wednesday when he was signed for £2m in 1995.

After four and a half seasons at Hillsborough, he had spells with Perugia in Italy and OFK Belgrade in Serbia followed before moving to Holland with Vitesse Arnhem.

Dejan returned to the Premiership with newcomers Portsmouth in a £1.9m deal in 2003, winning the Fans' Player of the Season award in 2004/05.

Alain Perrin would later make the commanding defender his captain. He made 125 appearances in all competitions for Pompey, scoring three goals before being signed by Lawrie Sanchez's Fulham in 2007.

Stefanovic faces a lengthy spell on the sidelines after rupturing cruciate knee ligaments against Preston at Carrow Road in early November 2008.

He made his international debut for Yugoslavia against Hong Kong in 1995 at the age of 20 and retired from international football in 2004 with 20 caps to his name for Yugoslavia and later Serbia and Montenegro.
