The midfielder from Johannesburg, South Africa, initially joined the Canaries on a two-month loan spell. Having impressed during that time, Pattison was signed permanently in January 2008.
Matthew or "Matty" as he is more commonly known, previously worked with Glenn Roeder at Newcastle and it was he who gave the midfielder his chance, making 15 appearances in all competitions for The Magpies.
Matty scored his first Norwich goal in the pre-season victory over Gorleston at Emerald Park in July 2008.
