The Republic of Ireland Under-21 international, who can operate across in defence and in central midfield, signed a new two-year contract with the Canaries in April 2009.
He made his City debut in January 2006 in the third round FA Cup tie against West Ham United at Carrow Road as a late substitute for Jason Jarrett. His first start came three months later at Hillsborough away to Sheffield Wednesday.
Michael along with striker Chris Martin went out on loan to League Two side Luton Town in August 2008 for the 2008-09 campaign making 48 appearances, scoring four times. He was a key part of the Luton side that won the Johnstone's Paint Trophy beating Scunthorpe 3-2 in extra-time at Wembley.
Spillane won the Republic of Ireland Under-19 Player of the Year Award in March 2009.
He scored his first City goal in the 4-0 win over Leyton Orient at Carrow Road in September 2009.
