CODY McDonald joined City from Dartford on transfer deadline day, February 2, 2009.
The striker was prolific in non-league football scoring 19 goals in 20 appearances in all competitions for the Darts in the first-half of the 2008-09 season, including four in his last three games for the Ryman Premier League side.
He signed for Dartford in October 2008 from Maldon Town, one league below. Previously he played for his home-town club Witham Town in the Ryman Premier Division One North.
He scored on his City debut on March 10, 2009, the second in the 2-0 win over Cardiff City at Carrow Road. McDonald latched on to Alan Gow's through-ball in injury-time, rounded Dimitrios Konstantopoulos and side-footed into the empty net.
Following the injury to on-loan goalkeeper Ben Alnwick against Sunderland in the Carling Cup in August 2009, with all substitutes used, McDonald donned the 'keepers gloves for the final seven minutes.
In March 2010, McDonald's contract was extended until the summer of 2012.
McDonald has joined League Two club Gillingham on a season-long standard loan deal for the 2010-11 season.
