The Bellshill-born defender joined the Canaries in August 2008 from Celtic on loan until January 1, 2009.
His first City goal came at Pride Park against Derby County in October 2008.
Kennedy made his Celtic debut against Motherwell in April 2000 becoming their youngest ever player aged 16 years and 231 days. However, this record was later broken by City's own Mark Fotheringham.
John began to establish himself in Celtic's first-team during the 2003/04 campaign but suffered a horrendous knee ligament injury making his Scotland debut against Romania that kept him out of the game for three years.
The 6ft 2in central defender has made 46 appearances for the Scottish giants and is currently their longest serving player.
