City midfielder Darel Russell returned to Carrow Road in July 2007 after finalising a switch from Championship rivals Stoke City. Russell spent four seasons at the Britannia Stadium after leaving the Canaries in the summer of 2003. He started 176 games for Stoke, scoring 16 times.
He re-signed for City on a three-year-deal for an undisclosed sum. Having trained as a youngster at the Norwich City's Centre of Excellence, Russell is strong, aggressive and a powerful non stop runner, which is not surprising considering that he represented England as a teenager at the pentathlon and heptathlon.
An energetic player who likes to get forward and support the front men, Russell gives the Canaries' midfield an added attacking edge.
Rusty made his 250th City appearance in December 2009 in the Johnstone's Paint Trophy match at St Mary's Stadium against Southampton.
