Q: Who did you support as a kid and who was your boyhood hero? Christina Chessa, Old Buckenham
Gary: I supported Luton Town as a boy, and my hero was Roy Keane. I always admired him as a player and then was lucky enough to play with him with the Republic of Ireland.

Q: Who do you rate as the best defender in the Premier League at the moment? Alex Leech, Norfolk
Gary: I'd usually go with John Terry but this season I think it's been Rio Ferdinand. He is very consistent and rarely has a bad game.

Q: Do you like playing with Jason Shackell?
George Wilson, Stowmarket
Gary: Yeah I do, we have been the main two centre backs during our good run and he has been in fantastic form recently. He is a very dominant defender and covers good ground as he is pretty quick.

Q: If you could play for any team in the world, who would it be and why? Sam, Norwich
Gary: It would be Real Madrid because of their impressive history.

Q: Gary, what's it like to play in defence with Dion Dublin? Jake Ward, Norfolk
Gary: It's great. As with Shacks, Dion and I had a decent run of games in defence. Obviously he is a great leader and talker in the team and he can do that from anywhere on the pitch either upfront or at the back.

Q: Doc, has there been a favourite moment for you this season in terms of a tackle or a save from Marsh? Simon Taylor, Wymondham
Gary: Although it was cancelled out by a goal later in the game I think Marsh's save against Hull would be up there. I think he said it's one of his best saves and it's definitely one of the best I've ever seen on the pitch.

Q: As a former Luton player, is it sad to see them in their current situation? Dale Mulhall, Milton Keynes
Gary: Yeah it is sad. Obviously my family and friends are from Luton. I heard a few rumours that they would get an investor in and hopefully they can take the club forward but at the moment they are in a real bad plight and I'm worried for them.

Q: On away games do you have to room share? If so with who and what are there bad habits? Samantha Asker, Buckinghamshire
Gary: I pay a bit extra and room on my own these days. I find it's better that way as you don't know what other people's sleeping patterns are and it allows you to have your own preparation time. I've roomed with Crofty before and he kept me awake all night with stupid stories about his days at Man City!
