THE Canaries' reserve team chalked up their biggest win of the season, recording an emphatic 7-1 win at Grays Athletic.

Chris Martin and Luke Daley each scored two apiece, with Rossi Jarvis, Ryan Jarvis and Bally Smart completing the scoring at the New Recreation Ground.

Jarvis senior made the opening for the first goal on 17 minutes, working his way to the byline before crossing for Martin to tap in.

Norwich were well in control, but Grays hit back on 25 minutes. Simon Lappin gave away a free, which was 'risky business', allowing Tom Cruise to shoot past Steven Arnold into the top corner.

Damon Lathrope, making his first start as a professional, saw a shot smash off the crossbar. But City were not to be denied, with Jarvis and Martin combining well again on 41 minutes for the latter to fire past Bradley Gibbons.

On the stroke of half-time it was 3-1, Patrick Bexfield crossed for Rossi Jarvis to finish at the near post, with the one-way traffic continuing after the break.

The fourth goal arrived on 64 minutes, the assistant flagging to signal that Bally Smart's shot had crossed the line after rebounding off the underside of the crossbar. And two minutes later Ryan Jarvis was rewarded for a bright showing, collecting a pass from Lathrope before sliding the ball beneath Gibbons.

Substitute Luke Daley then got in on the action, notching the sixth from a tight angle and lobbing the 'keeper to complete the rout following a pass from Martin.
