Minutes of meeting on September 15, 2008
1. APOLOGIES
Apologies were received from Alison Palmer, Richard Bland and Mark Burchett.
2. MINUTES OF THE MEETING HELD ON MAY 27, 2008
The minutes were agreed.
3. MATTERS ARISING
R. Gough informed the group that John Aves has handed in his resignation for both the SCG and Disabled Working Party and thanked John for all his excellent ideas and work.
4. WORKING GROUP UPDATES
J. Whitwood highlighted that the Long Distance Supporter Group would be meeting on September 20.
Ability Counts Week will take place w/c November 10 and will include a supporters' forum, coaching for 200 disabled children and a match with deaf participants ahead of City's match with Swansea.
The next meeting of the Young Supporters Working Group has been postponed and a new date is to be set.
A. Cullen confirmed that Richard Gough will take up Chair of the Pricing Working Group.
5. SCG MEDIA COVERAGE
Discussion took place regarding media coverage of the SCG following the last meeting convened to deal with investment speculation.
N. Doncaster reaffirmed that the meeting took place in accordance with what the Club does - consult on issues that affect supporters to try and benefit from their wisdom and confirmed that the group was universally known within the Club and that the better policy decisions are often made as a consequence of the consultation processes.
It was agreed that at the next meeting a review of the SCG and a review of its purpose and mission would take place.
6. ANY OTHER BUSINESS
As this will be Andrew's last SCG meeting, R. Blower wished to place on record thanks to Andrew Cullen for his achievements at the Club.
7. NEXT MEETING
The next full SCG meeting to take place on November 24, 2008.
8. FOOTBALL MATTERS
R. Munby asked for thoughts and views on the Club's financial viability and the perception of supporters over its sustainability and a number of issues were highlighted and discussed.
