CITY defender David Stephens has today joined League Two Lincoln City on loan for the remainder of the season.

A product of the Canaries' Academy, 18-year-old Stephens is currently in his first season as a professional at Carrow Road. He made his first team debut in the second half of City's 1-0 win at Gillingham in the Johnstone's Paint Trophy in October when he replaced Gary Doherty for the final 20 minutes.

That outing at the Priestfield Stadium has been Stephens' only first team football but the big defender has made 10 appearances for the Reserves and played 14 games for the youth team this season.

This move to Sincil Bank is aimed to give Stephens a taste of regular first team football. Lincoln are managed by former Carrow Road favourite Chris Sutton who was also a team-mate of City boss Paul Lambert at Celtic.
