DOUBLE CLUB

Posted on: Fri 05 Sep 2008

Double Club is a brand new, innovative project that generates excitement for learning by focussing on football.

It uses the enthusiasm many young people have for the sport to motivate them in the classroom.

It involves 2 hours of football themed classroom sessions and 1 hour of football coaching a week.

Classroom sessions make use of inspirational resources - Matchday programmes, highlights of recent games and exclusive match photographs.

Effort, achievement and team work are rewarded with Golden Goals. The pupil(s) that top the League Table at the end of the season win prizes.

Double Club is ideally aimed at Year 7 students who need support making the transition from Key Stage 2 to Key Stage 3.

However, because of the universal appeal of football, Double Club can just as successfully run as a 'key-skills booster' programme for pupils in years 8 and 9.
