The Centre continues to be used by the whole community and the over 50's classes continue to thrive.

Tutor Maxine Mace with the support of Colleen Jeffery now delivers eight classes per week.

This term the students have used the Internet to visit Ebay and used their skills to navigate the site, some have even gone on to become 'Ebayers' and are enjoying the delights of bidding online.

Over the past few weeks the groups have been creating Emergency Contact Cards, similar to a business card, which they will now carry on their person in case of an emergency, a very worthwhile exercise, highlighting the need to know friends' mobile phone numbers etc.

All students are encouraged to use emails to correspond with each other and the staff, most now have the confidence to email family and friends around the world.

Quotes
"Every week my confidence grows. I enjoy the classes so much and really look forward to them. I am now able to send photos of my grandchildren as attachments to my friends, something I could not have done without Maxine and Colleen's help"
Janet Gibb who joined the Wednesday Class earlier this year.

"I am very proud of the work we do with the over 50's groups; it is a real pleasure to teach these people. We manage to laugh at mistakes and make learning an enjoyable experience. To date we have welcomed over 100 "mature students" onto the classes and the class attendance is remarkable, some of the students have now been with us several years which confirms we are offering theses people a real community service, not just a place to learn but an environment where they feel safe and happy. The Centre offers everyone, whatever their age or ability an opportunity to improve their IT skills at a pace that suits them.As the Centre strides towards celebrating its tenth anniversary it is wonderful to do such a great job."
