NORWICH City's Study Centre are helping children pass on the Olympic message at Carrow Road.

Yesterday's event marked 1,000 days until the start of London 2012, and the Playing for Success centres around the country are imparting the values associated with the Olympic and Paralympic games and have symbolised this through a synchronised balloon launch.

The key values are courage, friendship, inspiration, determination, equality, excellence, Olympic and Paralympic Heroes and respect. With each of the nine government regions in the country linked to one of these values. In the East of England Playing for Success venues are excited to be launching the value of respect.

The Norwich City Football Club Study Centre and Viking Learning Centre at North Walsham RFC took part in the national synchronised 'respect' balloon launch, and lending his support was Norwich City midfielder Stephen Hughes, who joined local schoolchildren at Carrow Road to release the balloons.

The children involved were from White Woman Lane Junior School in Old Catton, taking part in their first Playing for Success session at the Study Centre.

Norwich City midfielder Stephen Hughes said: "It was great to be here to help with the launch and see the children inspired by the Olympic games and their values."

Paul Wickens, NCFC Study Centre Manager added: "We are delighted to be involved in the Pass it On Values Relay Launch to celebrate 1,000 days until the start of the Olympics. Pass It On is a wonderful project that aims to get young people thinking about and learning from the Olympic Values well before the Games begin. We're doing all we can to support it."
