JANUARY will see Norwich City commemorate the Club's famous 1958-59 FA Cup run with the 59ers 50th Anniversary Reunion, sponsored by Aviva.
Celebrations will start when a special limited edition shirt will be worn by the Norwich first team for their FA Cup third round tie against Charlton Athletic on January 3.
The commemorative shirts follow the original 1958-59 shirt design and thanks to Aviva, there will be no sponsor logo. They also feature a green v-neck and sleeve trim and distinctive period badge design. The team will also sport black shorts on the day, as the 58-59 team wore.
Back in October, current player Sammy Clingan joined Terry Allcock, who played in the historic cup run to unveil the special shirt and 959 of these have been produced for fans to purchase from the Canary Stores.
By coincidence as of today (Tuesday) 59 remain in small and medium adult sizes only, priced at £35 and are available from both the Canary Stores at Carrow Road and The Mall. Season ticket holder and membership discounts are available and shirts will be accompanied by a certificate of authenticity featuring a 1958-59 team photograph. Supporters will also have the opportunity to purchase the player-worn shirts through an auction after the third round tie.
An anniversary dinner to honour the 1958-59 team will take place in the Norfolk Lounge, Carrow Road on Friday, January 16, at 7.30pm. Tickets for the dinner are available to order priced at £45 each or £400 for a table of ten (VAT included), by calling 0844 826 1902.
Other events are being arranged for January 17, when City play host to Barnsley - more details are to follow shortly.
