JOSH Murphy announced himself to senior football in style during the Canaries' Capital One Cup match against Watford in September 2013.

On what was his debut, Murphy came off the bench and fired the goal that inspired City's comeback from 2-0 down to eventually win 3-2.

While that stunning strike may have made people stand up and take notice, his name was already familiar to City fans who had witnessed him play a starring role in the Under-18s' FA Youth Cup triumph of 2013.

Murphy went on to make 13 appearances in total during the 2013-14 season, while also regularly featuring for England's Under-19s.

He began the 2014-15 season well, stepping off the bench to make an impact in the 3-1 win over Blackburn Rovers before firing a Capital One Cup brace against Crawley Town.

The youngster registered the first league goal of his career in a 3-1 victory at Blackpool in September 2014, going on to make a total of 16 City appearances in all competitions across the course of the campaign.

Murphy also spent time on loan at Wigan Athletic, where he made five appearances, before joining MK Dons on loan for the entirety of the 2015-16 season and making 42 appearances as well as scoring five goals.

His impact was such that the Wembley-born youngster won the Players' Player of the Year award at stadium:mk.
