CITY completed the signing of Kyle Lafferty from Palermo on a three-year deal with an option for a further 12 months in July 2014.

The Northern Ireland international began his career at Burnley, making his full debut in 2005 before going on to play 89 times in three seasons with the Clarets.

He moved to Rangers for £3m in July 2008, and scored on his home debut – the first of 38 goals he would go on to bag for the Scottish giants across four years.

The striker decided on a move abroad to Swiss outfit FC Sion in the summer of 2012, with an impressive campaign that included 12 goals earning him the switch to Palermo the following July.

Scoring 11 times in 34 appearances for the Italian outfit, Lafferty was voted fans' Player of the Year before signing for the Canaries in the summer of 2014.

He featured in 18 Sky Bet Championship matches for City, scoring once, before ending the season on loan to Turkish side Rizespor.

During the 2015-16 season he spent time on loan at Birmingham City, scoring once in six appearances.
