MATCH REPORT: CHELSEA 3-1 U21s

24 August 2014

Becchio scores as U21s are defeated by Blues

LUCIANO Becchio netted for the Canaries Under-21s as they fell to a 3-1 defeat to Chelsea at the Electrical Services Stadium.

The striker, playing as one of three senior outfield players that are allowed in the Development Squad, headed home Reece Hall-Johnson's cross five minutes after half-time.

First-half goals from Jeremie Boga and Dominic Solanke had given the Blues a two-goal advantage going into the break.

The points were sealed for the hosts after a Cameron King own goal midway through the second period, although Dale Brooks' Canaries will have been encouraged with aspects of their performance.

They will now prepare for their next fixture, a trip to Manchester City on Friday September 12.
