Dundee United reel in Hibs with victory at Tannadice

TONY Andreu was the match-winner for Dundee United on Friday night as they edged past promotion rivals Hibernian at Tannadice.

Star man Andreu converted a 73rd-minute penalty to earn a 1-0 win and extend United's unbeaten run to eleven matches, drawing them level on points with league leaders Hibs in the process.

The French attacker has now scored nine goals in his last 13 games in what is turning out to be a fruitful loan spell.

A division above in the Scottish Premiership, James Maddison featured for Aberdeen as they took on Rangers at Ibrox on Saturday.

Goals from Kenny Miller and Lee Hodson put Maddison's Dons on the backfoot, and they could only grab a consolation through Andrew Considine as both sides finished with ten men.

Elsewhere, Hamilton Academical drew 1-1 with Partick Thistle at New Douglas Park - but Remi Matthews remains a long-term absentee for the Accies due to a shoulder problem.

Declan Rudd and Harry Toffolo are also both currently out injured for Charlton Athletic and Scunthorpe United south of the border.

Toffolo's teammates had a weekend off, while Charlton were held to a 0-0 Emirates FA Cup second round draw by MK Dons in Karl Robinson's first match in the hotseat.
