U21s: HALAJKO EXPECTING OPEN GAME AT SPURS

9 March 2016

City visit White Hart Lane on Friday night (7pm)

FRIDAY's Under-21s game between City and Tottenham Hotspur will see two attacking teams go head-to-head, says Canaries boss Dmitri Halajko.

The reverse fixture back in October saw Spurs triumph 3-2 in front of 6,684 supporters at Carrow Road, and Friday's hosts have scored an average of two goals per game in the Barclays Under-21s Premier League Division 1 this season.

Ahead of the match at White Hart Lane, Halajko explained: "When we played them are our place, they played some good stuff. Both teams will try to attack, it could be high-scoring.

"We're used to stadium games now. It won't phase our players - it will give them a little bit more energy and a little bit more of a buzz. Spurs are a really good footballing team who pass the ball really well.

"With the game being at White Hart Lane, there's a strong possibility that they might drop in pros. Stadium games at homes are when most teams tend to do it."

On his own squad, Halajko admitted that the group is likely to revert back to a mix of young professionals and scholars after Kyle Lafferty, Tony Andreu and Vadis Odjidja Ofoe featured against Manchester City last week.

"We'll be young as normal. I wouldn't expect much involvement from the first-team due to their game and us being away from home," he told canaries.co.uk.

"Within the squad, there will be six or seven Under-18s and our usual lads from the Under-21s group.

"Against Manchester City we thought that there were periods of the game where we certainly matched them, but we were disappointed with the goals we conceded.

"We've had four really tough games, but if we add up the good little spells from Man City and Chelsea and the lessons we learned against Manchester United, we're capable of going to Tottenham and getting something."

Tickets are now on sale for this fixture, priced at £5 for adults and £1 for concessions (under-16s and over-65s). Book now by calling the Spurs ticket office 0344 844 0102, option 2.

We will be joining the team on Friday night to provide coverage acrossour digital channels, with video highlights to follow on Norwich City TV.
